Your own guess; a professional determines the actual category.
Which published examples are being combined?
Commercial Save The Day Restoration reports a regional $1,500–$5,000 minor one-room clean-water job and $500–$1,500 initial minimum. National HomeAdvisor lists restoration per square foot at $3–$4 clean, $4–$6.50 gray and $7–$7.50 highly contaminated. Neither publisher quoted this particular South Pasadena property.
What calculation does this site make?
Supply an already-known affected floor area, finite from 10 to 5,000 square feet. Provisional rate intervals are clean [3,4], gray [4,6.5], high [7,7.5] and unknown [3,7.5]. For the lower boundary the model takes the greater of area times the low rate and $500; for the upper boundary it takes the greater of area times the high rate and $1,500. The two floors, unknown interval and rounding convention are our editorial model, not measured local prices.
Which optional repair figures are used?
HomeAdvisor gives ceiling $450–$1,600 and drywall $300–$850. Save The Day reports carpet removal $2–$4 and installation $4–$12, hardwood removal $4–$8 and installation $8–$20 or more per square foot. Our derived additions are carpet $6–$16 and hardwood $12–$28 or more; their areas cannot overlap or add up beyond total affected area. Include selected repair amounts before rounding the final lower total downward and upper total upward to $100. An upper hardwood result stays open-ended.
Can the tool determine the final amount due?
It cannot find hidden water, determine category, price a specialty trade or predict an insurer's decision. The calculator sends no inquiry data. Request a material-specific written estimate from a qualified provider.
